Von Duprin 98EO Smooth Case Rim Exit Device

The Von Duprin 98EO is a premium, architectural-grade rim exit device engineered to provide maximum physical security and smooth mechanical operation in high-traffic commercial environments. Certified to strict ANSI/BHMA A156.3 Grade 1 standards, this heavy-duty push-pad device features a sleek, smooth mechanism case designed to blend seamlessly with modern architectural lines. It is universally suited for all types of single doors, as well as double doors when paired with a central mullion.

This exit-only (EO) model is configured with a blank chassis and no exterior trim, maximizing building perimeter security by eliminating external tampering points while ensuring instant, code-compliant egress from the inside. Built for extreme conditions, the 98/99 series platform is highly versatile, with select models certified for severe hurricane-resistant applications, ensuring structural integrity under immense pressure.

The rim device is non-handed except when the following device options are used: SD (Special Dogging), -2 (Double Cylinder) or SS (Signal Switch). Covers stock hollow metal doors with 86 or 161 cutouts on single doors (may cover cutouts on pairs – consult template).

Von Duprin push pad exit devices are available in two external surface styles, designated 98 Series and 99 Series. The two styles are mechanically and dimensionally identical and provide a wide selection of appearance options.
