The Detex EAX-500 is a compact, surface-mounted exit alarm designed to deter unauthorized use of emergency exits and restricted doors. This self-contained unit provides a cost-effective security solution for retail, healthcare, and commercial facilities that require a reliable audible alert without the need for expensive electrical wiring.

The alarm is triggered by a magnetic contact and sounds a powerful 100-decibel siren when the door is opened. Its redesigned, tapered housing allows for installation on a variety of door types, including narrow stile aluminum doors. The EAX-500 also includes an intelligent circuit that automatically senses the magnet location to set the correct door handing, simplifying the installation process.

Intelligent Door Handing: The advanced circuitry automatically detects the orientation of the magnetic contact, ensuring proper operation regardless of whether the door is left or right-handed.
